Mikayla had a really fun birthday this year. We bought her a Hello Kitty bike so we decided to have a Hello Kitty themed party. The night before her birthday, we of course went to dinner at Wendy's (a family tradition since my water broke when we were eating at Wendy's). After we got the girls to bed that night we decorated! Kris blew up LOTS of balloons and I decorated the cake. We then made a video clue for Mikayla's first scavanger hunt clue. We decided to send her on a scavanger hunt so she could find her present. On her birthday, we showed her the video clue and the hunt began. He first place was the chicken coop, then off to Cresent Moon where she has her dance glass. Then we went to Redbox, the swimming pool, the library and then to Sue's house. She found a clue outside in Sue's yard that led her into Sue's house. She searched all over the house until she found her new bike!!! She was so excited! She rode her bike home while Kris walked with her and Mikkel and I drove home to start getting things ready for the party. She had a 'girl' party that afternoon. She made sure that her dad was the only boy there. During the party we made birthday crowns, pinned the bow on Hello Kitty, danced, and had cupcakes. It was a lot of fun! Then later that night, we had a get together with family and we shared cake and ice cream with them. It was a fun birthday and Mikayla was so excited to finally be 5!!! (the pictures are in no particular order...I couldn't seem to get them chronolocial)
