here we are!

Here are some fun pictures that I've taken in the last little while. Our girls are so fun! We like to get out and do things together as a family. Mikayla is now 17 1/2 months and Mikkel is 2 1/2 months. We have been enjoying the summer like weather. Yesterday Kris and Mikayla went out and planted tomatoes in the garden. They also planted beans, squash, and cucumbers. We are going to have a big garden this year. Kris actually put big pieces of plastic down so that it would help keep the weeds down. We haven't been very good at weeding the garden. Mikayla has been really enjoying a show called "Signing Time" It's on pbs only on Monday's and Friday's (Friday is a reply of Monday's show) so we record it so that she can watch it during the week. She has been signing a lot more since watching this show. It's such a fun show! I even get into and have learned a lot from watching it. Mikayla also loves teddy bears. She has her favorite one that she sleeps with and plays with. She'll share whatever she has with her bear. She calls him "B". I did hear her say bear the other day but she usually calls him just "B". Besides "B" she likes all other bears. Mikkel is growing and changing everyday. She still goes to PT for her neck and that has been working. She now moves her head both right and left. We are working on the muscles to help them loosen. She only goes to PT once a week (sometimes less). She smiles a lot and is starting to get the little giggles. Her hair is still brown and all over the place. It is actually very curly when it's wet. Very cute! Mikkel loves to watch Mikayla. I'll hold Mikkel up and she'll follow Mikayla with her eyes where ever she goes. I keep telling Mikayla that she needs to act nice because Mikkel is learning from her already!
Here are a few pictures to enjoy...
Mikayla's first trip to the Library!

Mikkel's first trip to the Library...she probably won't remember.

Mikayla reading...notice her tower of blocks that she built! She can stack blocks six high!

Mikayla looking cute...sorry a little blurry but still cute.

Our garden started in the house...beans, squash, and cucumbers.

Mikayla's first trip to the Sand Dunes. She liked having one enormous sandbox!

Kris and Mikayla rolling a little, yellow, plastic egg! (not Easter time but just something to do)

Mikkel crashed after our trip to the sand dunes. She slept like this for several hours!

"Happy Cinco de Mayo"

Five olives for five little fingers!

getting dressed! She as one pink shirt on her left leg, a white shirt on her right leg, and she's starting to put on her pink pair of pants!

This is one of my toys that I bought as a preschool teacher. She enjoyed playing with it!

Mikayla was all dressed for the day but then saw this 'bug' shirt and she just had to wear it. So I gave it to her and she wore it around her neck for a long time. She loves ladybugs! Every time she sees this shirt she'll point to the lady bugs and say, "bug".

Givn' luvs!

Mikayla's 'Cave'. I took out the food storage buckets that were in this cupboard and she claimed it as hers. She'll climb in and shut the doors. It's kind of fun.
