Cedar Mountain - September 2012

Mikkel wanted to keep the worms as pets...that didn't work out!  :o)

We were up on the mountain at a beautiful time...the leaves were all turning their beautiful fall time colors!

Here was our pet duck for the day!

Mikkel tried to cast her line out into the water but instead she hooked it into her chair!  Kris became a surgeon and was able to remove the hook.  I'm glad it was the chair and no ones skin.  :o)

Mikkel collecting rocks, sticks and leaves.
She was trying to hide her surprises behind her back but she kept turning around...she didn't know I could see it because it was behind her back!  :o)

Mikayla was quite a dedicated fisherman.

We went up to Cedar Mountain last weekend (September 27, 28, 29) to go camping and fishing.  Kris' brother was up on the mountain with his camping trailor for the hunt so we were able to sleep in the trailor at night.  We also made a few meals on the stove in the trailor.  On the 27th we got up to Cedar Mountain later in the evening so when we got there we built a fire and threw on our tinfoil dinners.  Then we settled down for a cold fall sleep.  Then Friday morning, after our yummy pumpkin pancake breadkfast, we went fishing at Aspen Mirror Lake.  It was fun and beautiful but we didn't catch anything.  There was a duck that wanted our attention so it hung out with us the whole time.  Mikayla almost caught it...it ate the worm off her hook.  After a few hours of fishing we went back to camp and had lunch, played horseshoes, and then headed back out to fish.  This time, we went to Duck Creek.  Still no luck catching anything but we had fun.  The next day, we went fishing again at Duck Creek and Mikkel caught a nice big Rainbow Trout.  In all the excitement we didn't take pictures of her fish but it was a good one.  It's in our freezer waiting to be eaten for dinner.  Kim and the boys came up to the mountian to hunt so they stopped by camp and joined us for lunch and a few rounds of horsehoes.  It was a really fun camping trip!

Sisters!

My favorite!

The girls were ready for school early one day and so I grabbed the camera and took some pictures of them together.  I asked them to pose cute for a few pictures and then I told them they could be silly for some.  They had a fun time!  I have two beautiful girls whom I love very much!!!  I'm so glad they have each other...BFF's!  :o)

Burning the stump!

Quite a few years ago, when my parents still owned this house, there was a big, no huge, tree on the west side of the house. It started to get sick and the best thing to do was cut it down. For years the stump remained in place but the time has come to remove it. We plan on putting up a fence on the west side of the house but the stump is in the way so we have been whacking at it with sharp tools. The neighbors (Mosdells) have even taken a few whacks at it but it just wasn't coming out very easy. So we decided to burn it. You can't have a fire in the yard and no tinfoil dinners so we invited Kim & Deb and the boys over for dinner. It was a yummy evening! :o)

Mikkel's First Day of Preschool - September 4, 2012

Notice her shoes are on the wrong feet.  That is her trademark and definitely not worth the fight to change!  I love all her silly little things that make her Mikkel!

For some reason this one just makes me laugh!  :o)

Mikkel at her preschool - Mrs. Kelly Stubbs' preschool

I can't believe Mikkel is old enough to go to school.  She is 4 and wanted to go to preschool so bad.  She has such a strong personality that I knew going to a preschool with other adults and children would be a good thing for her.  She watched Mikayla go off to school and was so excited that it was finally her turn.  Mikkel loves the outdoors.  She can always be found outside playing in the rocks.  She has quite a collection of rocks.  When I mow the lawn I always have to watch out because sometimes her rock collection is in the grass!  :o)  She doesn't like to be constricted with too many clothes so when she is home you will normally find her in her swimming suit or a little sundress (she also loves to sleep in just her cute little panties).
