Mikkel wanted to keep the worms as pets...that didn't work out! :o)
We were up on the mountain at a beautiful time...the leaves were all turning their beautiful fall time colors!
Here was our pet duck for the day!
Mikkel tried to cast her line out into the water but instead she hooked it into her chair! Kris became a surgeon and was able to remove the hook. I'm glad it was the chair and no ones skin. :o)
Mikkel collecting rocks, sticks and leaves. She was trying to hide her surprises behind her back but she kept turning around...she didn't know I could see it because it was behind her back! :o)
Mikayla was quite a dedicated fisherman.
We went up to Cedar Mountain last weekend (September 27, 28, 29) to go camping and fishing. Kris' brother was up on the mountain with his camping trailor for the hunt so we were able to sleep in the trailor at night. We also made a few meals on the stove in the trailor. On the 27th we got up to Cedar Mountain later in the evening so when we got there we built a fire and threw on our tinfoil dinners. Then we settled down for a cold fall sleep. Then Friday morning, after our yummy pumpkin pancake breadkfast, we went fishing at Aspen Mirror Lake. It was fun and beautiful but we didn't catch anything. There was a duck that wanted our attention so it hung out with us the whole time. Mikayla almost caught it...it ate the worm off her hook. After a few hours of fishing we went back to camp and had lunch, played horseshoes, and then headed back out to fish. This time, we went to Duck Creek. Still no luck catching anything but we had fun. The next day, we went fishing again at Duck Creek and Mikkel caught a nice big Rainbow Trout. In all the excitement we didn't take pictures of her fish but it was a good one. It's in our freezer waiting to be eaten for dinner. Kim and the boys came up to the mountian to hunt so they stopped by camp and joined us for lunch and a few rounds of horsehoes. It was a really fun camping trip!
